Toyota TS030 Hybrid 2nd Place Le Mans 2013
The Toyota TS030 was the first prototype race car since the GT-One was built in 1998. The TS030 was also the first gasoline powered hybrid car built to race at Le Mans. In 2012, the first year it was raced, it scored two wins Audi, which had been dominating at Le Mans and in the World Endurance Championship for years. While the TS030 wasn't able to surpass their Audi rivals, Toyota showed that it was a force to be reckoned with.
In 2013, Toyota focused on tweaking the motor, focusing on reliability and efficiency. Unfortunately at Le Mans, Toyota was not able to take pole position, and has had a four year string of bad luck there. Mazda still remains as the only Japanese manufacturer to win at Le Mans.
This diecast 1:64 scale model of the TS030 is artfully crafted by Spark Models. If you're looking for to add another Toyota model car or Le Mans model car to your collection, look no further.
